Applus+ DatapointLabs (USA) achieves Nadcap accreditation for Non Metallic Materials Testing

07/02/2022

Upon passing the infamously tricky audit, the materials lab in Ithaca (NY) has been recognized for its commitment to continual improvement in aerospace quality.

The Applus+ Datapointlabs team, which moved into a brand new site last summer, has made its name through offering an extensive range of material tests through TestCart, their own e-commerce platform, as well as software solutions for material data management, like Matereality.

Though until now the focus has been more on plastics and polymers than composite materials, this new accreditation allows the team to test a wider range of aerospace materials, and for a broader selection of clients. Will Ligouri, Quality Manager at the Ithaca lab, explained "With the increasing reliance on composite materials, particularly in the aerospace sector, it was the right time for DatapointLabs to pursue this accreditation."

The Nadcap audit, defined and conducted by well-experienced industry experts, has now been passed, and the team are proud to be awarded the prestigious recognition.

    Seven turns into eight

With the new accreditation, Applus+ DatapointLabs becomes the eighth Nadcap-accredited lab of the Applus+ Laboratories family, and the sixth with this specific recognition.

As this is our first US-based lab to achieve the accreditation for Non Metallic Materials Testing, it’s big news all around as we continue to strengthen our position as a global strategic partner for the aerospace industry.
