Founded in 1998 under the name of Emilab, S.R.I. and headquartered in Amaro (Italy), Applus+ Emilab became part of Applus+ Laboratories, a Division of Applus+ Group in 2017.

Applus+ Emilab Accreditations

Applus+ Emilab is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory by Accredia (0986) for EMC, climatic and vibration testing.

Applus+ Emilab also has various approvals from governmental bodies and private companies, such as FCC (USA) and ISED (Canada), found in the Applus+ Laboratories list of accreditations and approvals.

Applus+ Emilab is an automotive technological centre that provides electromagnetic compatibility and electrical, climatic and vibration testing for low and high-voltage components. Its facilities, located in Italy, count on a wide range of state-of-the-art test chambers and equipment.

EMC Testing for the automotive industry

Applus+ Emilab's facilities carry out EMC testing mainly for electrical and electronic vehicle components both Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV), they’re backed up by:

Semi-anechoic chambers for testing industrial equipment and automotive components. These facilities are prepared to test high voltage systems of electric and hybrid vehicles (such as OBC or DC/DC converters) that require large rooms for complex set ups Shielded Faraday chambers and test benches for conducted emission tests.

Electrical, climatic and vibration testing

We have a range of equipment, climatic chambers and shakers that allow us to simulate the normal or extreme conditions that affect components during their lifetime, simulating high or low temperatures, humidity, thermal shocks, vibrations and other electrical parameters. These include

Measuring stations to test high-voltage electrical components according to LV 123 requirements.
Climatic chambers and thermostatic chambers (range -40°C to +180°C).
Thermal shock chambers.
Salt spray and UV testing chambers.
Sectioning system for PCB and microscopic analysis.
Shakers for vibration testing: random, sinusoidal and shock tests.
Equipment for flame testing (UL94, needle flame tester), tracking (CTI), glow wire testing (EN 60335, EN 60950, EN 60601, etc.).
