27/01/2022

With this new accreditation, Applus+ Laboratories expands its evaluation services to include mobile payment in consumer devices.

Thanks to its simplicity and convenience, mobile payment has been gaining traction worldwide, and its ubiquity is only increasing with the popularization of other NFC consumer devices such as wearables.
EMVCo manages the approval process of payment functionalities in mobile devices, wearables and other form factors supporting different execution environments such as eSE, eUICC, SWP UICC or HCE.

Applus+ Laboratories has obtained a new accreditation to test products in line with the EMV® Mobile Level 1 (L1) Approval Process, expanding its services to NFC consumer devices. The lab was already accredited to test products in line with the EMV® Contactless Mobile Payment (CMP) / PPSE Proximity Payment System Environment (PPSE) Specification.

EMV Mobile L1 certification evaluates the compliance of mobile devices in line with the EMVCo Contactless Communication Protocol Specification, and its test plan includes analog, digital, validation, interoperability, and performance testing.
