Applus+ Laboratories expands its UK capabilities with UKAS-accredited electrical safety testing

Applus+ Laboratories has expanded its capabilities in the United Kingdom with the launch of a new UKAS-accredited electrical safety testing laboratory. The newly accredited scope includes IEC 62368-1 for Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment and IEC 61010-1 for Test, Measurement, Industrial Control and Laboratory Equipment. 

These standards represent the initial scope of accreditation for the new Silverstone laboratory, but testing is not limited to just these. The lab can also support testing to many other electrical safety standards outside of the scope of accreditation at this time.  For products falling outside this scope, customers can also benefit from the broader electrical safety testing capabilities available across the Applus+ Laboratories network in Europe, North America and China. 

A comprehensive testing hub for electrical and electronic products 

This new capability represents a significant milestone in the growth of our UK laboratory. For more than two decades, our UK facility has supported manufacturers with EMC testing, while more recent investments have expanded its environmental and vibration testing capabilities. The addition of Electrical Safety testing further strengthens our ability to provide comprehensive qualification and compliance services for electrical and electronic products from a single location.  

By combining electrical safety, EMC, environmental and vibration testing capabilities under one roof, Applus+ Laboratories can support manufacturers throughout the product development cycle, from design validation and troubleshooting to final qualification and market access testing. This integrated approach helps reduce project complexity, streamline testing programmes and simplify supplier management.
