Bellaterra, 1st October 2021 - Applus+, one of the world's leading companies in the testing, inspection and certification sector, has acquired the Instrumentation Area and Metrology Laboratory of the company Mipel, S.A., which will be integrated into the Applus+ Laboratories division.
Mipel's multidisciplinary metrology laboratory is located in Leganés (Madrid) and is accredited by ENAC. The laboratory has high-performance equipment and facilities and its staff are well experienced, serving industrial sectors that require exhaustive control of measuring instrumentation, such as aeronautics, automotive, pharmaceutical, food, health control laboratories, hospitals, public administrations, and so on.
"The acquisition of the Metrology Department of Mipel is part of the strategic development plan of the Metrology area of Applus+ Laboratories. The integration of five laboratories in the last four years and the deployment of their activity throughout the country has significantly consolidated Applus+ Laboratories' position as a leader in Spain’s metrology sector.
