Applus+ Laboratories to evaluate sulfur dioxide corrosion in alarms

    Applus+ is the first Spanish laboratory accredited to conduct this environmental test
    Applus+ Laboratories is widening the scope of its environmental testing accreditation to evaluate the corrosive effects of sulfur dioxide (SO2) on contacts and electrical connections (Kc test), according to the EN 60068-2-42:2003 standard. Applus+ is the first Spanish laboratory, and one of few European laboratories, to be accredited for this kind of environmental test.
    The SO2 test is required to certify components of security alarm systems (EN 50130 standard family) and fire detection and alarm systems (EN 54 standard family).
