The device under evaluation included 42 different configurations, an exceptional number even within the global POS industry. Testing such a broad configuration set required the execution of more than 25,000 test cases, making this one of the most extensive EMV L2 projects handled by our team in recent years.

A different approach: prioritizing time to market without compromising full certification

While Applus+ Laboratories completed a similarly large EMV L2 project four years ago, this new engagement stands out for the strategy adopted.

To address the client’s urgency to launch the product, our experts proposed splitting the 42 configurations into independent test batches. This allowed the laboratory to:

•    Maintain full coverage, ensuring that all remaining configurations were certified within the global project timeline.

This strategy significantly shortened the customer’s time to market while still delivering a complete and robust certification package.
