Applus+ Laboratories joins ASFP, the British association for the fire-protection industry

16/11/2016
As an ASFP member, Applus+ will have a voice on the technical committees that define British fire-safety standards and regulations.
Applus+ Laboratories has been accepted as a member of the ASFP, the UK’s primary association for the fire-protection industry. ASFP membership will bring Applus+ even closer to the UK’s fire-safety market, of which the main manufacturers of passive fire-protective products already number among our clients.
The ASFP is a collaborative body that works to define British Standards (BS) relating to fire protection as well as installation protocols for fire-protection products and the criteria for undertaking related consultancy work in the UK. The ASFP Board’s approval of our membership application has given Applus+ a seat on key technical committees, putting us in a position to influence the technical detail of British testing standards.
The Applus+ Fire Laboratory has for long time been accredited to perform the vast majority of BS passive fire-protection tests. British Standards are not only in force in the UK, but also in much of the Commonwealth as well as in a number of Middle Eastern countries.
