DIN EN 10272 : 2001-01 is used for hot and cold formed rods for pressure vessels. The corrosion behaviour is compareable to the mat. no. 1.4401. Because of the higher Mo-content the material is better resistant to selective corrosion. In the delivery condition it is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion (IC), in the sensitised condition resistance to IC is given up to cross sections of 40 mm, if the treatment fulfills 10 min. at 650 deg. +/- 10 deg. with following water cooling.
