Type approval for telecommunication and radio communication products intended to be marketed in Bolivia is based on the ATT’s approval.

SUMMARY OF ATT RADIO/TELECOM TYPE APPROVAL PROCESS

Radio frequency transmitter and receiver products intended to be marketed in Bolivia that make use of the radio spectrum or connect to the public network are subject to a mandatory approval process issued by the Autoridad de Regulación y Fiscalización de Telecomunicaciones y Transporte (ATT).

The ATT’s compliance testing activities with technical requirements are based on 2014/53/EU RED and/or FCC test reports. Moreover, either an EU-Type Examination Certificate or an FCC Grant must be part of the technical documentation submitted to the ATT.

Once equipment type testing has been performed, a Bolivian representative must apply for the ATT’s certificate of approval by providing the required documentation. The required documentation must be submitted in person at one of the ATT’s regional offices located in Bolivia. The ATT’s certificate has a 5-year validity period and the typical lead-time to obtain it is 12 weeks.

ATT PRODUCT MARKING

There are no specific product marking requirements for the ATT’s approval.
