1) Remark: According to DIN EN 10295 : 2003-01, the highest temperature in air is 1100 °C for the material GX40CrNiSi25-20, material number 1.4848 (the former G-X 40 CrNiSi 25 20). The following is valid for the comparable austenitic DIN-material: Application for furnace parts that are subjected to the highest mechanical stress and that are stressed especially in terms of great high-temperature tensile strength, such as transport elements in annealing furnaces, quenchhardening furnaces, sheet-metal-normalizing furnaces and continuous furnaces for rolls, supporting beams, supporting grates, bolts, armatures, levers as well as furnace plates, burners, chains, muffles, helical retorts, transport rolls. In addition for case hardening boxes, annealing boxes and mortar boxes, annealing hoods, bases, closures, burner crosses and supporting posts. Durability: - with an oxidizing combustion atmosphere: 1150 °C, - with a reducing combustion atmosphere: sensitive to carbonizing, especially above 900 °C, - with oxidizing gases containing sulphur: limited, from case to case, - with reducing gases containing sulphur: no durability.
