1) Remark: G20Mn5, material number 1.6220, former 1.1120 (DIN 17182 : 1992-05) shows compared to unalloyed cast steel grades acc. DIN 1681 clearly higher values of the notch impact energy. Good weldability because of the low C content. By liquid quenching and tempering for wall thicknesses up to 40 mm the material is comparable with micro-alloyed steels. Both types can be welded in constructions. Application of the G20Mn5 for road wheels, brake discs, intermediate gears, steering swivels.
