1) Remark: The steel DD31X is a hot-rolled flat product (strip, sheet and bars) of thicknesses ≤ 6 mm with a multiphase structure mainly consisting of ferrite (up to 90%), martensite (up to 20%) and it has a bainite and retained austenite content. Usually, the delivery condition is the not descaled rolled condition. Deviations have to be negotiated at the time of ordering. The steel has a good formability, a good weldability without pre-heating and is also suitable for the application of surface coatings. Upon placing the order, special requirements should be pointed out. The dual phase steel offers special advantages regarding weight saving production of cold formed components in the automotive engineering like wheels, chassis parts, body reinforcements, bumper, profiles etc. because of the good dynamic behaviour the steel is applicated for dynamic loaded parts. The high hardening ability leads to a strong increase of the component yield strength. The rod diameter for folding amounts to 0xthickness for an bending angle of 180°. After a bake-hardening at 170°C (20 min.) BH2-values of > 30 MPa will be reached.
