1) Remark: The free cutting case hardening steel 10S20 shows considerably uniformer properties of the cross-section and within the melt than semi killed free cutting steels. Compared to 15 S 10 (DIN 1651: 1988-04) shows 10S20 a slightly enhanced machinability at relatively favorable ductility properties. Application for thin-walled case hardened parts in car industry, in apparatus, equipment and machine engineering. As bright steel product it is used in the form of bars, bright, straight, in various conditions (see DIN EN 10277 : 1999-10).
