The material is furthermore used in nuclear power engineering as far as nuclear rules or object-related specifications permit application from -196 to 450 °C. The high Cr-containing austenitic steel is warm formable. It is fusion weldable (welding additive e.g. the similar SG-Nicrofer 3033) by gas shielded welding allowing for generally accepted engineering rules. The intermediate layer temperature must not exceed 120 °C., a heat treatment after welding is normally not necessary. The high alloyed steel is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion both in delivery and welded condition. It shows a very high resistance to crevice and pitting corrosion. To the material acc. to SEW 400 : 1997-02 applies: The alloy is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion both in delivery and welded condition. It is used in chemical industry and offshore technology. Its limit temperature (operating time up to 100000 h, no intercrystalline corrosion) amounts to 550 °C.-196 - 450
