High hardness and strength can only be reached by cold forming. Strength values between F37 and F51. Heat and electrical conductivity lower compared to CuZn40. Addition of Pb improve the machinability. Corrosion resistance to water, different salt solutions and organic liquids is lower compared to lead-free alloys with the same content of Zn. (CuZn40) Processing properties: Hot forming: very well Cold forming: poorly Machinability: very well Brazing: medium Soldering: very well TIG-welding: poorly Polishability: very well Application: hot pressed parts, turning parts for fine mechanics and optics, clock parts as well as clamps for electrical engineering |
