1) Remark: X40CrMoV5-1 is an alloyed hot worked tool steel. In the hardened and tempered condition, it reaches a minimum of 50 HRC. Use: especially well suited for tools for the processing of light metal alloys through extrusion. Also for swage-pressed parts, mandrels and piercers in forging machines as well as dies and mandrels for the manufacture of screws, nuts and rivets. Especially well-suited for tenifer treatment.
