1) Remark: According to VdTÜV-Wbl 485 : 2001-09, the material NiCr23Co12Mo with the material number 2.4663 is used for pressure vessels according to TRB 100 and, with interpreting the AD-Merkblatt editions W 2 und W 10 faithfully to their meaning, for temperatures from -10 to 1050 °C. Furthermore, the highly corrosion-resistant nickel-base alloy is used for ranges of applications in nuclear engineering as far as the rules of nuclear engineering or the object-related specifications permit the use of - 10 to 1050 °C. With observance of the generally acknowledged rules of technology, the suitability for welding of this material is approved for gas-shielded arc welding with welding wires and welding rods or with [flux-cored] filler wire electrodes, for metal arc welding with sheathed stick electrodes and for submerged-arc welding (fillers: for sheathed stick electrodes: 2.4628, for welding rod and wire electrode: 2.4627). A preheating and a heat treatment after the welding are not necessary. During the welding, attention should be paid to a low heat input and a fast dissipation of welding heat. The following is valid for the highly creep-resistant nickel-base alloy according to DIN 17744 : 2002-09: the material is applied in the form of strips, sheets, bars and wires for highly heat-resistant construction components. The alloy shows an excellent combination of structural stability, strength and resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. By aluminium additive, the resistance to oxidation is even increased. The alloy is also resistant to many aqueous mediums. Application for non-rotating components of gas turbines, like bushing lining, combustion chambers etc., for petrochemical manufacturing technology, for heat treatment plants, for high-temperature components in nuclear reactors as well as for catalytic agent carriers in the nitric acid production. Processing properties: Formability: good Weldability: good (Werkstoffblatt: material specification Merkblatt: specification sheet)
