| 1) Remark: The material 2.4811 is almost identcal with the former material 2.4836. Apart from a partly good resistance to mediums with a reducing effect, this alloy is especially suitable for an application with oxidizing attacking agents. The material is resistant to moist and dry chlorine, aqueous solutions of chlorine and hypochlorites. Owing to the precipitation inertia of the alloy, a reduction of the corrosion-resistance (e.g. susceptibility to intercrystalline corrosion) by heat affecting the material during welding is generally not to be expected. The material possesses good high temperature tensile strength and resistance to pitting, and it is insusceptible to stress cracking corrosion. The material is applied in the chemical industry (handling of sulphuric and hydrochloric acid in low concentration, of mixed acids and organic acids, solutions containing chlorides, bleaching solutions), as material in the high-pressure synthesis, lining for high-pressure autoclaves, heat transfer devices, pumps, fans. |
