Material Description

Material Number Material Name Material Number (single) Standard Scope Standard Status Country Successor VDA 231-106 classification
2.1292 (DIN 17655 : 1981-11) G-CuCr 2.1292 DIN 17655 : 1981-11 DIN 17655 : 1981-11 replaced by DIN EN 1982 : 1998-12 Replaced Germany CuCr1-C 3.2 1)
1) Remark: G-CuCr is a hard and strength conduction copper alloy with high wear resistance. The material possesses good flow characteristics, is however wall thickness and crack sensitively. The conductivity is lower than with pure copper. The material is corrosion resistant and/or tempering steady to 350 °C. Manufacturing properties: - casting bar: well - cutting property: caused - soft soldering: caused - braze welding: caused - gas fusion welding: caused - gas-schielded arc welding: caused - resistance welding: well - polishing bar: well - galvanizing bar: well - suitability for dipping tinning: well Application: Employment in the electrical industry for energized parts e.g. in the building of switches, where a high wear resistance is demanded with at the same time good electrical conductivity. Manufacturing examples are contacts, clamps, connections, separation contacts, arc horns, electrode holder etc..
