1) Remark: Material EN AW-Al 99,98 is produced in large quantities for wire and prewire for mechanical application as well as for center punching. It is used in limited amount for sheets, bands and plates, rolled bars as well as for wire and prewire for welding applications. It is food-safe. The material is comparable to the trademark Al99,98R, material number 3.0385, acc. to DIN 1712-3 : 1976-12. EN AW-Al 99,98 is an extremely pure aluminium material with particularly high electrical conductivity. This material is very well anodic oxidizable (high gloss finished surfaces), but it shows only low mechanical strength. It is unsuitable for machining (greasing), however it is well weldable and solderable. Formability and corrosion behavior in acid sphere are very good. Application: e.g. for pressure gas tanks, for chemical and food industry, for household articles, reflectors, decorative strips, costume jewelry, for etching band, electrolyte condensers as well as for feederflags.
