1) Remark: Aluminum casting alloy (sand casting, permanent mould casting) for mainly complex castings. The alloy is food safe acc. to EN 601. Further properties according to EN 1706: Pressure tightness: poor Machinability (as cast): excellent Corrosion resistance: excellent Weldability: fair Sea water suitability: very good (source: DNVGL-RU-SHIP Pt.2 Ch.2. Edition July 2019) Excellent polishability. Gloss of the anodic oxide layer worse. Castability better due to higher Si content. Application: for predominantly complex castings, somewhat lower corrosion resistance, very good resistance to seawater and weak alkaline solutions, for interior and exterior architecture, food and chemical industry, fire extinguishing, equipment for the food industry, household, chemical industry and shipbuilding
