1) Remark: Non-precipitation hardenable aluminum casting alloy (sand casting, permanent mould casting) for castings with decorative surface. The alloy is food safe acc. to EN 601. It is recommended for marine applications, including shipbuilding and offshore applications (source: EN 13195). Further properties according to EN 1706: Pressure tightness: poor Machinability (as cast): excellent Corrosion resistance: excellent (especially against sea water and alkalescent media) Weldability: fair Further information according to VAR Verband der Aluminiumrecycling-Industrie e.V., Düsseldorf: Excellent polishability and anodic oxidisability. However, the casting properties are less favourable due to the lower Si content. Excellent corrosion resistance, especially to seawater and weak alkaline media. Application: for castings with decorative surfaces, interior and exterior fittings for vehicles and construction, decorative furnishings, household appliances, appliances for the food industry, panelling
