1) Remark: CuZn39Pb3 is a non-hardenable wrought alloy. High hardness and strength can only be reached by cold forming. Strength values between F37 and F51. Heat and electrical conductivity lower compared to lead-free brass of the same Zn content. Addition of Pb improve the machinability. Corrosion resistance to water, different salt solutions and organic liquids is lower compared to lead-free alloys with the same content of Zn. (CuZn40) Processing properties: Hot forming: very well Cold forming: poorly Machinability: very well Brazing: medium Soldering: very well TIG-welding: poorly Polishability: very well Application: main grade for machining, turning parts for fine mechanics, clocks, electrical engineering
