1) Remark: CuCr belongs to the hardenable, low-alloy copper alloys. Both strength and electrical conductivity are strongly increased by precipitation hardening. A cold forming before and/or precipitation hardening annealing entails an additional strength increase. The strength grade lie between F20 and F48. Disadvantage of CuCr is in some cases the relatively high notch sensitivity at increased temperatures. The destabilization temperature is approx. 475 °C. Manufacturing properties: hot forming: well cold formings: very well machinability: means hard and soft soldering: means gas-schielded arc welding: means polishing bar: well Application: In particular for electrodes for resistance welding, for electro-technology and the building of welding machines, for energized contacts and springs as well as mold material.
