1) Remark: CuAl9Mn2 (earlier CuAl9Mn) is a high strength wrought alloy, also at increased temperatures. The strength properties of the cold formable alloy are mainly influenced by the strain rate. The tensile strength, the yield strength and the hardness will increase and the elongation decrease with increasing cold forming rate. An strength between F50 and F60 is reachable. The electric conductivity and the heat conductivity of this grade decrease with increasing Al-content. CuAl9Mn2 is corrosion resistant to sea water, potash solution and mineral acids. It has a high heat-resistance up to about 300 degrees C and a high fatigue strength, also under corrosion stress. The material is resistant to scaling, has a high wear resistance, a high corrosion resistance to salt water, sulphite lye, mineral acids, is resistant to erosion and cavitation. Processing properties: Hot forming: good Cold forming: mid Cutting: mid Brazing: mid Soft soldering: poor Gas-shielded welding: good Polishing: good Application: high loaded bearings, gears wheels, worm gear wheels, wear strips, wedge strips, valve seats with high heat resistance as well as ship shafts and spark save tools
