Material Description

Material Number Material Name Material Number (single) Standard Standard Status Country VDA 231-106 classification
2.4989 (Stahl-Eisen-Liste : 1999) CoCr20Ni20W 2.4989 Stahl-Eisen-Liste : 1999 Replaced Germany 4.2 1)
1) Remark: The highly creep-resistant material CoCr20Ni20W with the material number 2.4989 is produced in the delivery forms sheet metal and bar as well as casting. It is oxidation-resistant the hot forming is performed at 1230 to 980 degrees C. The material is of limited weldability. The material is to be welded by using the shielding gas method with welding filler materials that are identical with the base metal. Subsequently, solution annealing and age-hardening (arc welding [stick electrode] and resistance welding of thin metal sheets is possible). Resistant against high-temperature corrosion (sulfidation). The resistance against oxidation is lower than that of nickel alloys. The material is applied for construction components for the furnace construction, the chemical and petrochemical industry, gas turbines and jet engine construction components with a high demand on the high temperature tensile strength, such as blades, flame tubes, combustion chambers, afterburners, inlet nozzles, discs, rings, high-temperature valves and springs.
