1) Remark: The heat-treatable nitriding steel 31CrMo12 is applicated for heavy, wear-loaded machine components with a high surface hardness up to a dimension of 250 mm. For hot steam fitting components such as valve spindles application at dimensions up to 100 mm at maximum pressure for grinder and miller spindles. The steels contains nitriding agents (Cr) which contribute by the nitriding resp. nitrocarburization process with N resp. N and C to an increase of - case hardness - wear resistance - fatigue resistance and - corrosion resistance. Application for forged components: hardened, mechanically machined and thermochemical treated (e.g. nitriding)
