1) Remark: The for pressure vessels approved steel X6CrNiMoNb17-12-2, mat. no. 1.4580, is similar corrosion resistant like the X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2 (1.4571). It shows very good resistance to not oxidising media and halogenated media because of the high amount of Mo, is high polishable and good cold formable is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion in the delivery and also in the welded condition, but the corrosion resistance is varying because of chemical composition and the welding conditions. Acc. DIN 17440 : 1996-09 it is used for flat products and rods and drawn wire and acc. DIN 17441 : 1997-02 for cold rolled strips and slit strips for pressure vessels. The limiting application temperature (operating time 100000 h, no intercrystalline corrosion) amounts to 400 degrees C. For the application acc. DIN 17440 : 1985-07 (X 6 CrNiMoNb 17 12 2) resp. acc. DIN EN 10088-1,-2,-3 : 1995-08 (X6CrNiMoNb17-12-2) applies: application for the chemical apparatus construction in the cellulose industry, textile industry, rubber industry and colour industry. The steel is high polishable.
