DIN 17440 : 1985-07 (X 20 Cr 13) resp. acc. DIN EN 10088-1,-2,-3 : 1995-08 (X20Cr13) applies: construction parts of higher strength with higher mechanical load of axles, shafts, pump parts, piston rods, valve cones, nozzle needles, ships propeller, beater bars, surgical instruments. The steel is corrosion resistant to water and steam (blades) and it is highly polishable.
