1) Remark: Valid for strip, sheet, shape steel, forging and seamless tube material NiCr22Mo9Nb with the material number 2.4856 highly corrosion-resistant nickel-base alloy NiCr22Mo9Nb is contained in the VdTÜV-Wbl 541 : 2001-06 as coating material for seamless compound pipes (base materials 1.0405 and 1.7380). The suitability for welding of this material is approved for submerged-arc welding, metal arc welding, gas-shielded arc welding. A plasma-cutting of this material is possible. Application range -196 to 450°C: for pressure vessels according to TRB 100 and AD-Merkblatt W 2 and W 10, in nuclear engineering as far as the rules of nuclear engineering or the object-related specifications permit the use. Smelting: electro arc oven (E and elctro slag remelting process or E and VOD-process) AOD-process and elctro slag remelting process VIM-Verfahren and ESR-process The following is valid for the material according to DIN 17744 : 2002-09 : is applied in the form of strips, sheets, tubes, bars, wires and forgings for corrosion-resistant and highly heat-resistant construction components. The alloy possesses an extraordinary resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, erosion and intercrystalline corrosion, and it also is insusceptible to chlorine-induced stress cracking corrosion. Good resistance to mineral acids, such as nitric, phosphoric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid as well as to alkalis and organic acids. Because of the excellent properties in terms of high-temperature tensile strength and the wear properties together with good resistance to oxidation and carbonizing at the same time, the material is applicable up to 1050 °C. The as-delivered condition solution annealed ought to be chosen for application temperatures of more than 600 °C. In the temperature range 600 to 800 °C, the material has a tendency towards embrittlement. Application: for maritime-technology plants, plants for the production or processing of sulphuric, phosphoric, nitric, hydrofluoric and hydrochloric acid and organic acids and alkalis as well as for flue-gas cleaning systems and plants for the processing of natural gas and oil.
