1) Remark: Valid for sheet, strip, rod, forging, seamless tube pure nickel with low carbon content (material number 2.4068) suitable for forming and welding Application: in range of -10°C to 600°C - for pressure tanks according to TRB 100 and AD-Merkblatt W 2 - in nuclear engineering as far as the rules of nuclear engineering or the object-related specifications permit the use Smelting: - arc process - inductive ofen process according to DIN 17740 : 2002-09: Application: - of strips, sheets, tubes, bars, wires and forgings for corrosion-resistant construction components - built-in parts for light bulbs and thermionic valves - in chemistry and petrochemistry, e.g. for heater tubes, tube plating and circulation plates of the evaporators of a caustic soda plant - for plant components for the salt production, e.g. heat exchangers, centrifuges and valves and fittings - in the food industry for plant components for the processing of food, e.g. fruit juice processing plants More: - LC-Ni99 is a pure nickel of commercial quality and with a reduced carbon content like LC-Ni99.6, which, however, possesses a little higher degree of purity. - the reduced carbon content, differing from Ni99.2 or Ni99.6, prevents the formation of embrittling carbon precipitations >315°C - maximum operating temperature for sodium hydroxide evaporators is approximately 450°C - good resistance to corrosion in reducing conditions, e.g. in hydrofluoric and hydrochloric acid - in oxidizing conditions, a protective film forms on the surface and so follows a good resistance to sodium hydroxide, hydrogen chloride (dry) and bromine (dry) - good resistance to stress cracking corrosion, in solutions of caustic alkalies as well as in solutions containing chloride Processing properties: Formability: very good Weldability: good
