Material Description

Material Number Material Number (single) Standard Scope Standard Status Country Application temperature [°C] VDA 231-106 classification
2.4879 (DIN EN 10295 : 2003-01) 2.4879 DIN EN 10295 : 2003-01 Supersedes DIN 17465 : 1993-08 Valid Germany ≤ 1150 1.1 1)
1) Remark: According to DIN EN 10295 : 2003-01, the highest temperature in air is 1150 °C for the material G-NiCr28W, material number 2.4879 . The following is valid for the comparable austenitic DIN-material: The heat-resistant cast material G-NiCr28W is suitable for temperatures between 1150 and 1200 °C in air or in an oxidizing atmosphere depending on the sulphur content and for temperatures between 1100 and 1150 °C in a reducing atmosphere. Application for highy stressed furnace parts and hearth rolls that are exposed to a carbonizing atmosphere at an operating temperature of up to 1200 °C. The weldability is good.
