1) Remark: Ferritic compacted (vermicular) graphite iron with the lowest strength and highest ductility. The high thermal conductivity and the low Young's modulus reducing the thermally induced stress. The predominantly ferritic matrix reduces the expansiongrowth, when the component is exposed to elevated temperature. Application: exhaust manifolds, turbocharger housings, cylinder heads for large marine engines and stationary engines
