1) Remark: The food-safe material EN AW-Al Mg4,5 is produced as prematerial for cans, caps and stoppers as well as for wire and prewire for mechanical application. To the comparable mark AlMg4,5, material No. 3.3345, acc. to DIN 1725-1 :1983-02 applies: The alloy has a high corrosion resistance. It is resistant to seawater and salted atmosphere. Strength increases and cold workability decreases according to the Mg-content. The alloy is naturally hard, i.e. a strength increase is achieved only by cold forming not by controlled heat treatment. The material is well brightenable and suitable for anodizing. Cutting workability and weldability increase according to the rising Mg-content. It shows an intercrystalline corrosion sensitivity. Tendency to intercrystalline corrosion can be decreased by appropriate heat treatment or addition of Mn or Cr. Application: predominantly for packaging
