1) Remark: Material EN AC-AlSi9Mg is produced as sand and chilled cast. It shows the following casting characteristics and properties: plasticity: excellent heat crack resistance: excellent pressure tightness: good workability (after heat-treatment): good to acceptable workability (casting condition): good corrosion resistance: good decorative anodic oxidation: not advisable weldability: excellent polishability: insufficient strength at room temperature: excellent strength at increased temp. (up to 200°C): acceptable ductility (impact strength): excellent fatigue strength amounts 80 to 110 N/mm² ( best available casting method, values for vibration durability up to 50*10 hoch 6 cycles [Woehler diagram]). To the comparable DIN-mark G-AlSi9Mg, mat. No. 3.2373, acc. to DIN 1725-2 : 1986-02 applies: The material is an excellent castable alloy. It is suitable for coiled, thin-walled casting parts of high strength and favorable ductility (hot hardened). Corrosion resistance and weldability are excellent. Application: Complex and highest loaded machine parts, such as cylinder heads, crankcases, brake pads, vibrating engine and ventilator parts etc.
