1) Remark: Material EN AC-AlSi10Mg(a) is produced as diecasting. It shows the following casting characteristics and properties: plasticity: excellent heat crack resistance: excellent pressure tightness: acceptable workability (after heat-treatment): good corrosion resistance: acceptable decorative anodic oxidation: not advisable weldability: insufficient polishability: insufficient strength at room temperature: good strength at increased temp. (up to 200°C): acceptable ductility (impact strength): acceptable fatigue strength amounts 60 to 90 N/mm² ( best available casting method, values for vibration durability up to 50*10 hoch 6 cycles [Woehler diagram]). Diecasting weldability depends on the embedded gas amount and is mostly insufficient. For certain casting methods are achievable good to acceptable values. To the comparable DIN-mark GD-AlSi10Mg, mat. No. 3.2382, acc. to DIN 1725-2 : 1986-02 applies: The material a neareutectic alloy of excellent casting properties, high heat-crack resistance, favorable machinability and high chemical resistance. It is suitable for coiled, thin-walled, pressure-tight, vibration resistant casting parts of high strength and hardening. Application: machine engineering, vehicle manufacturing, transport, food industry.
