1) Remark: CuZn40A12 is a non-hardenable Cu-alloy. High hardness and strength values can only be reached by cold forming. Strength values between F55 and F65. The addition of Al leads to higher strength, resistance to corrosion and oxidation. CuZn40A2 has a high resistance to wear and is good resistant to atmospheric corrosion, to light aggressive water and gases and insensitive to oil corrosion. Processing properties: Hot forming: very well Cold forming: poor Machinability: medium Brazing: medium Soldering: poor TIG-welding: medium Polishability: very well Application: mechanical engineering parts, slide bearings, valve guidings, gear parts and piston rings
