1) Remark: CuZn39Pb1Al-C, mat. No. CC754S (former G-CuZn37Pb, mat. No. 2.0340 acc. to DIN 1709) shows favorable machinability. It has a favorable general corrosion resistance and is applicable in atmosphere without surface protection. It is sufficiently resistant to stress corrosion and irresistant to ammoniac. Sharply declining strength values at 100°C and up, up to -200°C slightly increasing strength and slight embrittlement. Sufficient bearing properties at moderate loading and lubrication. Processing properties: castability: very good machinability: very good soft soldering: good hard soldering: conditionally gas fusion welding: unfavorable arc welding: unfavorable TIG-welding: unfavorable MIG-weding: unfavorable resistance welding: good burnishing (mech.): very good galvanizing: very good suitability for dip tinning: very good (material specification applies for G-CuZn37Pb acc. to DIN) Application: form casting parts of thin-walled and complex constructions. It is used for not too highly loadable controlling parts, for electrical operations, carbon brushes retainer, instrument components as well as for many complex moldings not exposed special strains.
