1) Remark: CuZn23Al6Mn4Fe3Pb (CW 704R former identification: CuZn23Al6Mn4Fe3) is an unhardenable copper alloy. High hardness and strength values are achievable by cold forming only. Strength properties are improved by AL- and Fe- addition. Manganese and aluminium increase corrosion resistance. The alloy is seawater resistant. Processing properties: warm forming: good cold forming: unfavorable machinability: good hard soldering: unfavorable soft soldering: unfavorable burnishing: very good CuZn23Al6Mn4Fe3Pb is a construction material of very high strength, particularly for high static loading. Application for plates and tubes in condensators and heat-exchangers as well as for seawater pipes.
