1) Remark: The alloy AlMg4Mn belongs to the nature-hard aluminum wrought materials, so a strength increase can be achieved only by cold forming, not by a purposeful heat treatment. The material is characterised by good corrosion resistance. It is sea water steady and steady against saline atmosphere. Increasing Mg+Mn content makes the extrusion more difficult, but strength and very low-temperature behaviour improve. The alloy is well weldable. The alloy AlMg4Mn is standardised as semi-finished material only as sheet metal or strips, thickness: >= 0,35 mm (DIN 1745). Application: Preferably for rolling shutter and roll gates (sheet metal profiles), in the apparatus engineering for container (very low-temperature tank), heat exchanger and pipings, in the construction of vehicles for superstructures, tank and silo trucks, dump truck hollows, buses, bumpers, auto body and safety-related parts. In shipbuilding for the trunk, for superstructures, sail masts and radar equipment.
