Applus+ recognised and designated by Federal Communications Commission to test RF Devices

    The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has recognised and designed Applus+ as an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory for testing Radio Frequency devices (intentional radiators) for conformity with FCC regulations, under Title 47 (telecommunications equipment) Part 15 full scope
    The Applus+ laboratory in Barcelona, Spain, (LGAI Technological Center SA) has been recognised and designated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to test Radio-Frequency wireless devices.
    These tests can only be carried out by an ISO 17025-accredited body that has been officially designated by the FCC, and they are mandatory for the certification of unlicensed wireless equipment wanting access to the US market.
    This recognition encompasses all conformity testing detailed under Title 47 Part 15 of the FCC regulations:
    • Intentional radiators – FCC Part 15, Subpart C
    • U-NII without DFS intentional radiators – FCC Part 15, Subpart E
    • U-NII with DFS intentional radiators – FCC Part 15, Subpart E
    • UWB intentional radiators – FCC Part 15, Subpart F
    • BPL intentional radiators – FCC Part 15, Subpart G
    • White space device intentional radiators – FCC Part 15, Subpart H

    Applus+ Laboratories is broadening its testing, certification and global-market-access portfolio for electrical and electronic devices that incorporate connectivity technology. This is a growing market due to the high technological demand of  of IoT devices, which enables the connecting of all sorts of equipment with a view to enhanced functionality, process improvements through access to data, and even the development of new business models.
    This FCC recognition follows last year’s accreditation to test against the essential requirements of the European Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU) and enables Applus+ laboratories to carry out conformity testing on radio equipment intended for both markets.
