With this new accreditation, our IT laboratory in China broadens its range of testing services to include smart cards
Applus+ Laboratories in China successfully passed the final Visa audit to conduct Visa certification testing for contactless payment cards. In 2014, Applus+ became the first Visa-accredited laboratory in China. Its initial accreditation scope covered Visa Contactless Payment Specification (VCPS) for acceptance devices.
Applus+ services for payment terminals also include EMV L2 Certification testing for contact devices.
With this new accreditation, our IT laboratory in China broadens its range of testing services to include smart cards. To obtain this new accreditation, our Chinese team benefitted from knowledge transfer and in-depth training from our Barcelona (Spain) based IT laboratory. Our Spanish laboratory is a fully accredited Visa lab for functional testing and security evaluations for many different products including cards, acceptance devices, secure elements and HCE, and has more than 15 years of experience in payment systems testing and evaluation.
Applus+ has been investing in its Chinese laboratories reinforcing its testing capabilities for mobile security solutions. In the last year, the Applus+ IT lab in Shanghai achieved the necessary accreditations (Visa Ready, GlobalPlatform) to offer security evaluations and functional testing services for new mobile security solutions such as Host Card Emulation and Trusted Execution Environments.
