DOTNAC Project

Development of a safe, contact-free, high resolution, and potentially on-site NDT tool, based on terahertz (THz) waves, which will be easy to integrate into industrial facilities. Funded by the European Commission.

The objective of DOTNAC project “Development and Optimization of THz NDT on Aeronautics Composite Multi-layered Structure”, is to develop a safe, contact-free, high resolution, and potentially on-site NDT tool based on terahertz (THz) waves, which will be easy to integrate in industrial facilities and detect superficial and internal errors in aeronautics composites materials.

The development of a NDT tool will complete the gaps in current composites materials inspection techniques to avoid errors in those materials with high mechanical properties.

The Project is managed by Royal Military Academy with the participation of Applus+ to provide its expertise in NDT techniques.

The Project has been funded by European Commission within the 7th Framework Program (FP7).
